I guess it wouldn't be prudent to speak of the not so secret underground bunker out in AZ... I think that the 'state secret' is that this has been going on for decades when it comes to voice......

The bunkers are part of the AT$T Defense Communications Network. There are at least 5 That I am aware of. I was priveleged enough to be allowed to tour one of the underground facilities in VA. It is a spectacular operation. I think the most impressive aspect was the 10' diameter fiber optic that...

Ideed this is true. But while this policy is useful for maintaining state secrets, It's also useful for stifling dissent and counter-activity in regards to illegal and immoral activities taken by the Government.
I would rather live in an insecure but free state than one that is ostensibly resistant...
