If this quote is true...

"The flaw can affect fully patched Windows XP/SP2 systems even with the default Windows firewall enabled", then why the big emphasis on patching ? Sounds like the patch is useless. Am I missing something here ?

LMAO! Am I the only one who thinks this sounds a little bit fishy? "Hurry, Install our Backdoor! er umm we mean Security Patch!"...

Funny, no one has commented yet on the fact that the patch not only breaks IE but creates larger security holes. The fact that DHS urged this to be installed has increased the scope of the problem. Next time perhaps DHS should make sure the patch is valid before endorsing it.
