This slap on the wrist encourages more of the same. Your corporate-owned government at work. If you were to trojan a rootkit on Sony's corporate computers, you would go to prison. Why are these criminals let go with a fine? Because they bought the government. It's disgusting....

Well serves them right. No one believed me when I told them BMG cd's had a virus on it. Then they got owned - professionally. Actually the CD's did not have a virus on them, they had a rootkit that was being used for legitimate reasons, Sony's mistake was not informing the users of the rootkit and for not protecting the rootkit (It allowed other programs/malware such as backdoors to use the Sony rootkit which would then be...

....and for dodging around offering an uninstall utility, like alot of spyware vendors; then refusing to admit they were in the wrong... Also like spyware vendors.
