Money. When Sony found out their foolishness was going to cost them, only then did they recant and start their backpeddling. I just hope those individuals, District Attorneys, States and Countries cost Sony so much in the courts that they never recoup it on their "savings" from this DRM fiasco.

It would be interesting to find out what percentage of the installed rootkits that will be patched, since most of Sonys customers probably are unaware of the installed software, the problems with it and/or the patch....

This is why I'll never buy a CD from Sony again, and probably even hardware. After all, I have options from companies who aren't out to screw me and wreck my computer. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me....

I have seen the list of artists that have this rootkit on their cd's...but they have failed to list a few other artists that has rootkit on their cd's as well. To me that says that they are still lying and trying to trick consumers.
