Money. When Sony found out their foolishness was going to cost them, only then did they recant and start their backpeddling. I just hope those individuals, District Attorneys, States and Countries cost Sony so much in the courts that they never recoup it on their "savings" from this DRM fiasco.

Exactly, then they realized how poorly it worked. I mean load the cd ripper inside the $dir$ and the DRM won't see the cd ripper, LOL. come on, test your "DRM" before you put it on the Internet....

http://www.eff.org/deeplinks/archives/004144.php is a list of the CDs and how you can tell which ones have which copy protection. Makes me glad I run Linux and Mac......

It would be interesting to find out what percentage of the installed rootkits that will be patched, since most of Sonys customers probably are unaware of the installed software, the problems with it and/or the patch....

I have seen the list of artists that have this rootkit on their cd's...but they have failed to list a few other artists that has rootkit on their cd's as well. To me that says that they are still lying and trying to trick consumers.
