I see it like this:
Microsoft doesn't have a clue on how to design a proper and correct operating system and so it took them 5 years to release an almost proper and correct one (Windows Vista). Windows XP took them 2 years to release, and thus has 2.5 as much bugs as Windows Vista.

So far, I've been impressed with Vista's security. Vulnerability-wise, Secunia.com reports 13 vulnerabilities for Mac OS X in 2007, 7 in Linux 2.6, and 2 in Windows Vista. The only reason there are fewer vulnerabilities in VISTA is because the scanners don't know how to treat it, so the testing of VISTA is flawed to begin with.
