Yes, let's waste more tax dollars on another do-nothing agency. A better approach would be to take some of the ongoing research on bot-nets and put it to use in developing a system to actively detect and disrupt them....

Something we DO NOT need is more federal employees hired to phish out problems (excuse the pun). There are plenty of examples within the Beltway that have proven that time and time again....

I think the point here is not necessarily that government can do a good job, but that at this point, no one is stepping up to address these types of issues. Once you have a couple of major ISP that gets on board to assist in preventing this kind of activity, the discussion of the government needing...

So basically, because ISP's are worried about being sued, they expect the government to cut out a customer's connection, and be sued. IMHO, ISP's should be held accountable. All they need to do is reword the agreement stating that if it is noticed that there is an issue, the connection will be tempo...
