Sounds like an attempt to smear the world's hottest selling computer to me. If you look at the photos, the hackers are actually allowed access to the machine! I thought hackers hacked in remotely???? Are these guying taking cues from the politcians??...

The contestants were allowed to connect directly to the laptops via a crossover network cable, which is the same access you would have if you were on the same network with the computer.

Umm, a web browser is a web browser, not an operating system. If Firefox has a buffer overrun problem in the scripting engine Microsoft doesn't patch Vista. Or maybe they do. ...

I believe they exploited the Safari flaw to gain access to the OS. The end goal of the contest is to be able to read a designated file on the machine. Doesn't matter if they exploited Safari, Filemaker, or your favorite crayon replacement....
