Orwellian indeed. We are fed constantly eye-popping news flashes [if you can call it news] about terrorism. We are supposed to cringe in fear and allow with open arms our goverment a carte blanche

My biggest problem with all of this is the criteria for application of the label, "terrorist." I seem to have heard something about surveillance of PETA because some members are more "active" than the mainstream. Now I happen to like the FLA "People Eating Tasty Animals," and I agree that some more ...

This is a sad state of affairs. Under the guise of the fight against terrorism, rights and freedoms are being slowly stripped away.The American people deserve better than to be treated like common criminals.

When will it be okay for the the goverment to tap your cable television to view what programs you are watching? When will it be okay to use a central database of all collected information on a person to put them on the "suspicious list."

There is a news story out now about NSA putting cookies on computers that visit their website. Hello morons, what do you think almost every website does? I just got one on my computer from securityfocus.com that doesn't expire until 1/17/2038. That is three years longer than the NSA cookie. Oh m...

No one is contending that the NSA shouldn't be able to eavesdrop. The contentions lie with the concern that the NSA is eavesdropping on Americans without the proper judicial oversight. The NSA is not supposed to conduct domestic surveillance as that should properly fall on the FBI.
