The link to the unofficial patch did not work. Shavlik has recommended unregistering the shimgvw.dll file as a workaround until a patch is released. The text for the batch file is

%systemroot%\system32\regsvr32 /s /u shimgvw.dll

There is not much to worry about, as user interaction is required to exploit this flaw. The exception ofcause, if if you run IE, in which case there is a hell of a lot to worry about....
