They probably did, but a lot of 'professionals' don't know how to configure it. I wouldn't wanna feed al the consultants that dont know what they're doing. How many companies have a firewall installe...

I bet part of what they were seeing were Honeypots.
I bet a lot of the Access Points were unauthorized.
A lot of the APs were probably not in financial companies in the financial districts - but rather belonged to small businesses and other entities....

I'll buy the unauthorized AP argument, but not many large financial entities in NYC share office space with smaller companies, due to the cost of a lease in that area. I'm pretty signal strength derived from a directional antenna will give you a pretty good idea of where the signal is coming from. A...
