Of course statements by Gates and Balmer do not improve security. But then it's my guess that they are not primarily interested in that. Their interest is making money by maintaining or improving the dominance of the different Windows versions. They are interested in better security only if it serve...

That reporter did not do his job. The reporters job is to research and verify what is discussed in an interview. I expect more fact checking from a prominent newsmagazine, especially when a statement such as Bill made is relatively easy to verify. Instead, what is printed will be taken as fact by it...

Bills statement is easy to verify?! Wow... If you are talking about the "MOAB", they did not have exploits everyday that could 'completely take over the mac'. A lot of them were for third party apps anyway, nothing to do with OSX.
