Laws are just as important to security as Firewalls and IDS's are.
Policies are what allow security to be more than simply preventative measures and laws are the highest level policies there are....

None of my commentary should be taken as a personal attack of the columnist for it is not. I would really rather just see computer security centric articles on the site. By my logic, that does not include an endless litany of ones based on the legalities of computer security. ...

I don't understand the break-in part. Yahoo put the password recovery feature out there for anyone to use it. When I try to recover a password on Yahoo, does it say, "if you are not "john Doe" of New York, NY bearing Social Security number 333-33-3333 then using this tool to recover your password is...
