NoCat dynamic firewall rules are used for user access and authentication. A transparent proxy sends all "Public" requests from NoCat through a content filter (Dansguardian) to block porn, hacker sites, extreme violence, illegal drugs, and other obscene and explicit Web sites. The content filter also blocks files extensions to protect your network from viruses, and restricts file sizes to save bandwidth. Botan Added 2004-03-08 Botan is a library of cryptographic algorithms written in C++. It includes a wide selection of block and stream ciphers, public key algorithms, hash functions, and message authentication codes. It has an easy-to-use filter interface and supports many common industry standards, including X.509v3. Ryan's Anti-Virus Recipe Added 2004-03-04 Ryan's Anti-Virus Recipe is a Procmail recipe that performs content-based (as opposed to signature-based) filtering for common email viruses using Procmail's scoring feature. Emails that are determined to contain viruses are stamped with a header indicating the name of the virus and are filtered into a user-specified quarantine folder. Fwall Added 2004-03-04 fwall is a simple user-friendly firewall script for iptables. It is based on bash. It includes a configuration for 1-2 interfaces, port forwarding, DoS protection, and so on. SURVIVOR Added 2004-03-03 SURVIVOR is yet another systems monitor. It consists of a POSIX-thread based scheduler written in C++ running arbitrary checks in a flexible, heterogeneous, bureaucratic, and convoluted environment. It maintains proper state, history, sanity, and attitude, and allows interaction via Web, command, and two-way messaging interfaces. Just For Fun Network Management System Added 2004-02-24 Just For Fun Network Management System features an integrated syslog, Tacacs, TFTP configuration download, SNMP polling, SNMP traps, journal, autodiscovery, performance graphs (RRD), SLAs, and a lot more. Everything uses a database MySQL/PostgreSQL) backend. It works in Linux and Windows. netspeed_applet for gnome Added 2004-02-09 netspeed_applet is a little GNOME applet that shows the traffic on a specified network device (for example eth0) in kbytes/s. Covert Channels and Tunnels Detection Engine Added 2004-02-09 CCTDE is designed as an analysis back-end for the Snort NIDS tool and focuses on providing a way to register and disclose information leading to the detection of unauthorized tunnels and covert channels. phpOpenTracker Added 2004-01-26 phpOpenTracker is a framework solution for the analysis of Web site traffic and visitor behaviour. It features a logging engine that, either invoked as a Web bug by an HTML image tag or embedded with two lines of code into your PHP application, logs each request to a Web site into a database. One installation can track an arbitrary number of Web sites. Through its API, you can easily access the gathered data and perform complex operations on it (for instance, the analysis of your visitors' click paths). I-AM-DOH Added 2004-01-06 IAMDOH is a tool designed to increase the reliability of an IDS by reducing the number of false positives. It uses existing reliable tools like Nmap, Nessus, and Amap to validate IDS alerts based on the following criteria and techniques: OS identification, service identification, port scanning, vulnerability scanning, online CVE and bug interpretation, and server importance weighting. It only works with Snort at the moment. Browse by category |
