In order to achieve this task, Prelude relies on the IDMEF (Intrusion Detection Message Exchange Format) IETF standard, that enables different kinds of sensors to generate events using a unique language. Themis Security Scanner Added 2005-08-09 Themis is an advanced Network Scanner that capable scanning hosts for different vulnerabilities and produce a detailed report regarding the security problems the host might have. Network Equipment Performance Monitor Added 2005-01-17 NEPM is a very general, highly configurable, two part software system that monitors any type of logged data from IP networked equipment and reports it via E-mail and web pages. Current conditions and history from systems based on Windows NT/2000 and UNIX can be tracked and reported. Most major server, switch and router systems can be monitored, without running agents on the target systems. PatchLink Update Added 2004-11-30 With PATCHLINK UPDATE, patch management is the secure, proactive, and preventative process it should be. PATCHLINK UPDATE scans networks for security holes and closes them with the click of a mouse, no matter the operating system, the vendor applications, the mix, or the size of the environment. From 5K nodes to 20+K nodes, PATCHLINK UPDATE works quickly, accurately and safely to ensure desktops and servers are patched correctly and completely the first time around. ID-Synch Added 2004-09-14 ID-Synch is enterprise user provisioning software. It reduces the cost of user administration, helps new and reassigned users get to work more quickly, and ensures prompt and reliable access termination. This is accomplished through automatic propagation of changes to user profiles from systems of record to managed systems, with self service workflow for security change requests, through consolidated and delegated user administration, and with federation. Ethereal Added 2004-03-26 Ethereal is a network protocol analyzer, or "packet sniffer", that lets you capture and interactively browse the contents of network frames. The goal of the project is to create a commercial-quality packet analyzer for Unix, and the most useful packet analyzer on any platform. LSH Added 2004-02-09 lsh is an implementation of the SSH protocol version 2. It is under active development. Developer contributions are welcome from both inside and outside the US. Big Brother Added 2004-01-06 Big Brother is a combination of monitoring methods. Unlike SNMP where information is just collected and devices polled, Big Brother is designed in such a way that each local system broadcasts its own information to a central location. Simultaneously, Big Brother also polls all networked systems from a central location. This creates a highly efficient and redundant method for proactive network monitoring. Steghide Added 2003-10-15 Steghide is steganography program which hides bits of a data file in some of the least significant bits of another file in such a way that the existence of the data file is not visible and cannot be proven. Steghide is designed to be portable and configurable and features hiding data in bmp, wav and au files, blowfish encryption, MD5 hashing of passphrases to blowfish keys, and pseudo-random distribution of hidden bits in the container data. sXid Added 2003-08-12 sXid is an all in one suid/sgid monitoring program designed to be run from cron on a regular basis. Basically it tracks any changes in your s[ug]id files and folders. If there are any new ones, ones that aren't set any more, or they have changed bits or other modes then it reports the changes in an easy to read format via email or on the command line.
