It reduces the cost of user administration, helps new and reassigned users get to work more quickly, and ensures prompt and reliable access termination. This is accomplished through automatic propagation of changes to user profiles from systems of record to managed systems, with self service workflow for security change requests, through consolidated and delegated user administration, and with federation. Big Brother Added 2004-01-06 Big Brother is a combination of monitoring methods. Unlike SNMP where information is just collected and devices polled, Big Brother is designed in such a way that each local system broadcasts its own information to a central location. Simultaneously, Big Brother also polls all networked systems from a central location. This creates a highly efficient and redundant method for proactive network monitoring. Steghide Added 2003-10-15 Steghide is steganography program which hides bits of a data file in some of the least significant bits of another file in such a way that the existence of the data file is not visible and cannot be proven. Steghide is designed to be portable and configurable and features hiding data in bmp, wav and au files, blowfish encryption, MD5 hashing of passphrases to blowfish keys, and pseudo-random distribution of hidden bits in the container data. UCD-SNMP Added 2002-04-23 Various tools relating to the Simple Network Management Protocol including: - An extensible agent - An SNMP library - tools to request or set information from SNMP agents - tools to generate and handle SNMP traps - a version of the unix 'netstat' command using SNMP - a Tk/perl mib browser This package was originally based on the Carnegie Mellon University SNMP implementation, but has been greatly enhanced, ported, fixed, made easier to use and barely resembles the original package anymore. NFSWATCH Added 2002-04-08 NFSWATCH allows for the monitoring of NFS requests to any given machine, or an entire local area network. It monitors mostly NFS client traffic. It also monitors the NFS reply traffic from a server in order to measure the response time for each RPC. Arpwatch Added 2002-01-25 Arpwatch is a tool that monitors ethernet activity and keeps a database of ethernet/ip address pairings. It also reports certain changes via email. Arpwatch uses libpcap, a system-independent interface for user-level packet capture. Before building tcpdump, you must first retrieve and build libpcap, also from LBL, in: ftp://ftp.ee.lbl.gov/libpcap-*.tar.Z. Cgi Scanner Added 2001-11-05 Multi threaded cgi scanner. It has rulesets and more than 2500 cgi script checks. Checker Added 2001-10-22 Checker will scan a set of IP addresses for a configurable set of ports, and generate a report detailing what is and is not running properly. The output is highly configurable, and allows for the mailing of the results to a specifiable address. findomains.c Added 2001-10-22 findomains.c is a simple program to find the names associated with a class C worth of IP's. Subinfo Added 2001-10-22 Subinfo is a shell script which utilizes nslookup to dump all information about a domain, and its subdomains. Browse by category |
