It uses SSL v2/v3/TLS from SSLeay or OpenSSL. In addition, it contains a CA mode to allow it perform access control based on certificates. Chrootuid Added 2001-10-22 Chrootuid is a wrapper program designed to protect hosts from network compromise. By running a daemon under the chrootuid wrapper, if the daemon results in a remote compromise, the access acquired will be severely limited. Chrootuid utilizes the chroot() mechanism to allow the daemon to run in its own, contained sand box. If an attacker gains access to a host via a chroot'ed daemon, they will only have access to a specific subset of tools and capabilities, as provided in the chroot directory set by the wrapper. CU Sudo Added 2001-10-22 Sudo is a utility that allows administrators to give limited access to root privileges to users, and log activity associated with the use of sudo. This allows for giving people the access they need, without the need to give full root access. Sudo Added 2001-10-22 Sudo is a utility that allows administrators to give limited access to root privileges to users, and log activity associated with the use of sudo. This allows for giving people the access they need, without the need to give full root access. Lsof Added 2001-10-22 Lsof is a Unix-specific diagnostic tool. Its name stands for LiSt Open Files, and it does just that. It lists information about any files that are open by processes currently running on the system. ntop Added 2001-10-22 ntop is a network probe that shows network usage in a way similar to what top does for processes. In interactive mode, it displays the network status on the user's terminal. In Web mode, it acts as a Web server, creating an HTML dump of the network status. It sports a NetFlow/sFlow emitter/collector, and an HTTP-based client interface for creating ntop-centric monitoring applications. Kmap Added 2001-10-22 Kmap is a QT/KDE front-end to nmap, a popular and powerful console portscanner. Kmap allows quick and easy access to all of nmap's features, with much less hassle. Kmap also sorts the output from nmap into usable sections, so you easily extract the information you want. Veganizer Added 2001-10-22 The Veganizer is a spam counter-attack. It searches the headers of a specified message for all associated IPs and Domains, then sends mail to pre-specified addresses at those servers (abuse@, postmaster@) as well as addresses found by a whois query on the IPs/Domains. The mail sent will also include the original message with full headers. XScreenSaver Added 2001-10-22 The xscreensaver program waits until the keyboard and mouse have been idle for a period, and then runs a graphics demo chosen at random. It turns off as soon as there is any mouse or keyboard activity. This program can lock your terminal in order to prevent others from using it, though its default mode of operation is merely to display pretty pictures on your screen when it is not in use. The benefit that this program has over the combination of the xlock (1) and xautolock (1) programs is the ease with which new graphics hacks can be installed. You don't need to recompile (or even re-run) this program to add a new display mode. Improvements to about a dozen modules, and a new module, nerverot. Browse by category |
