It tracks network traffic flows and report aggregate statistics as well as (optionally) export Cisco Netflow v1 compatible datagrams. It can listen on a promiscuous network interface or read store pcap capture files, and includes a sophisticated control interface. flashboot for OpenBSD Added 2003-06-19 flashboot for OpenBSD is a set of makefiles, scripts, and support tools to build an OpenBSD image suitable for booting from read-only media, such as flash memory. The default image (<7Mb) is an image for a firewall/router with support for IPsec, SSH, IPv4 and IPv6 packet filtering, DHCP (client and server), and PPPoE. This image may be further trimmed or extended by editing the packing list files included in the distribution. Tepatche Added 2003-06-18 Tepatche is a patch management system for OpenBSD. It will periodically check a specified FTP site, and if there is a new patch to be applied, downloads, applies, builds and installs it. Tepatche mantains a small status database to know in what is the status of each of the system's patches. Monitoring Application for Resources and Servers Added 2003-06-16 MARS is a host based system monitoring tool. It contains a distributed agent, SPOT, which is placed on each host. The MARS server can then obtain information about each of the machines the agent is running on, including status, load information, disk activity and memory information. MARS is Java based, and should run on any Unix supporting Java, as well as Microsoft Windows products. Sophie Added 2003-06-09 Sophie is a daemon which uses 'libsavi' library from Sophos anti-virus vendor (http://www.sophos.com). On startup, Sophie initializes SAPI (Sophos Anti-Virus Interface), loads virus patterns into memory, opens local UNIX domain socket, and waits for someone to connect and instructs it which path to scan. Since the database is loaded in RAM, scanning is very fast. (Note: speed of scanning also depends on SAVI settings and size of the file.) It works on Linux, Solaris (Sparc/x86), HP-UX, and FreeBSD. DISCO Added 2003-06-09 DISCO is a passive IP discovery utility designed to sit on segments throughout a network to discover unique IPs and passively fingerprint TCP SYN packets. CCTT Added 2003-06-04 Cctt, "Covert Channel Tunneling Tool" is a tool presenting several exploitation techniques allowing the creation of arbitrary data transfer channels in the data streams authorized by a network access control system. Calamaris Added 2003-06-02 Calamaris parses Squid and NetCache Native Logfiles and generates reports about Peak-usage, Request-Methods, Status- report of incoming and outgoing requests, second and Top-level destinations, content-types and performance. LFT Added 2003-05-22 LFT (formerly FFT) is an alternative traceroute program for displaying the route packets take to an IP network host/socket. Unlike Van Jacobson's traceroute, which is available on almost every platform today, LFT uses TCP in order to elicit ICMP TIME_EXCEEDEDs or other IP route data. As a result, LFT often executes much faster and sees behind some configurations of firewalls. Its stateful engine lets the user know when it encounters a stateful firewall or other interesting conditions. It also does AS number and netblock name lookups en route. Most importantly, LFT can trace specific TCP-based protocol routes (not just IP) to assist network engineers with manual fault isolation of network application problems. dnsreflector Added 2003-04-28 The dnsreflector daemon listens for DNS queries on a local UDP port and answers with records pointing back to localhost. Combined with OpenBSD's packet filter pf(4), this works as a bandwidth efficient spamtrap. Browse by category |
