It is based on Trustix Secure Linux and includes a complete distribution port to Python 2.3 and RPM 4.2, an overhauled PAM authentication system providing system-wide authentication configuration, the latest upstream packages, the replacement of ncftp with lftp, the addition of gdb and screen, feature additions to the swup updater that provide multiple configuration file support, user login FTP support, enable/disable support, variable expansion support (allows multiple architectures), and many enhancements. TinyCA Added 2004-07-15 TinyCA is a simple GUI written in Perl/Tk to manage a small certification authority. It is based on OpenSSL and Perl modules from the OpenCA project. TinyCA lets you manage x509 certificates. It is possible to export data in PEM or DER format for use with servers, as PKCS#12 for use with clients, or as S/MIME certificates for use with email programs. It is also possible to import your own PKCS#10 requests and generate certificates from them. GNU Anubis Added 2004-06-02 GNU Anubis is an outgoing mail processor. It goes between the MUA (Mail User Agent) and the MTA (Mail Transport Agent), and can perform various sorts of processing and conversion on-the-fly in accordance with the sender's specified rules, based on a highly configurable regular expressions system. It operates as a proxy server, and can edit outgoing mail headers, encrypt or sign mail with the GnuPG, build secure SMTP tunnels using the TLS/SSL encryption even if your mail user agent doesn't support it, or tunnel a connection through a SOCKS proxy server. vthrottle Added 2004-06-02 vthrottle is an implementation of an SMTP throttling engine for Sendmail servers, based upon M. Williamson's mechanisms, as described in his 2003 Usenix Security paper. It allows the administrator to control how much email users and hosts may send, hindering the rapid spread of viruses, worms, and spam. Sign Added 2004-05-25 Sign is a file signing and signature verification utility. It implements gzip-style command line syntax and OpenSSH-style key-based authentication. It is small, fast, and is meant to facilitate the use of authenticated file hashing for online distributed material. Astaro Security Linux (Stable 5.x) Added 2004-05-13 Astaro Security Linux is a firewall solution. It does stateful packet inspection filtering, content filtering, user authentication, virus scanning, VPN with IPSec and PPTP, and much more. With its Web-based management tool, WebAdmin, and the ability to pull updates via the Internet, it is pretty easy to manage. It is based on a special hardened Linux 2.4 distribution where most daemons are running in change-roots and are protected by kernel capabilities. OS-SIM Added 2004-05-12 OSSIM pretends to unify network monitoring, security, correlation, and qualification in one single tool. It combines Snort, Acid, HotSaNIC, NTOP, OpenNMS, nmap, nessus, and rrdtool to provide the user with full control over every aspect of networking or security. WallFire wfconvert Added 2004-05-11 The goal of the WallFire project is to create a very general and modular firewalling application based on Netfilter or any kind of low-level framework. Wfconvert is a tool which imports/translates rules from/to any supported firewalling language. GNU MAC Changer Added 2004-05-11 MAC Changer is a GNU/Linux utility for viewing/manipulating the MAC addresses of network interfaces. It can set specific, random, vendor-based (with a 6600+ vendor list), and device-type-based MACs. yaSSL Added 2004-05-10 The yaSSL software package is a fast, dual-licensed implementation of SSL. It includes SSL client libraries and an SSL server implementation. It supports multiple APIs, including those defined by SSL and TLS. It also supports an OpenSSL compatibility interface.
