by Franco Gasperino
Scrubber is a server-side, high performance, extendable, SMTP-independent mail content filtering system. It supports global, per- domain, and per-user configurations with caching support. Any number of configuration storage mechanisms are supported through the plugin interface. Clients exist for SMTP-level integration in the common client-server architecture. Additional clients can be created for any mailer on any platform.

Figaro's Password Manager
Added 2003-12-29
by John Conneely
Figaro's Password Manager (FPM) is a GNOME application that allows you to securely store your passwords, which are encrypted with the blowfish algorithm. It allows you to copy passwords or usernames to the clipboard or primary selection. If a password is for a Web site, FPM can keep track of the URLs of your login screens and can automatically launch your browser. You can also teach FPM to launch other applications. FPM can sort your passwords into categories. Finally, it has a password generator that can help you choose good passwords.

WormScan
Added 2003-12-24
by Andriy Rozeluk
WormScan is a utility written in Java for the purpose of reporting attempted attacks on your Apache Web server. It was written to be able to support an unlimited number of worms. It is, however, very extendable, and can easily be configured to search and report on just about anything that can be found in your Web server's log files. The reports themselves are customizable, and can easily be modified to suit your needs. Numerous configuration options let you tweak the performance and the output.

SpamAssassin
Added 2003-12-09
by Justin Mason
SpamAssassin is a mail filter that uses a wide range of heuristic tests on mail headers and body text to identify spam. Once identified, the mail can then be optionally tagged as spam for later filtering. It provides a command line tool to perform filtering, a client-server system to filter large volumes of mail, and Mail::SpamAssassin, and a set of Perl modules that implement a Mail::Audit plugin0 (allowing SpamAssassin to be used in a Mail::Audit filter, a spam-protection proxy POP/IMAP server, or almost anywhere).

Apache DoS Evasive Maneuvers Module
Added 2003-10-30
by Network Dweebs Corporation
The Apache DoS Evasive Maneuvers Module is a module for Apache 1.3 that provides functionality for detecting and fighting off DoS attacks and brute force attacks. It does this by adding addresses to a 10-second '403 List' and rejecting rapidly repeated requests for the same URL from the same addresses, using an internal hash table, on a per-child basis. This module can be configured to talk to ipchains, ipfilter, or any other tool designed to push the attack out to the network layer, and provides email notification in the event of an attack.

elfcmp
Added 2003-10-21
by Matt Miller
elfcmp compares running processes to the their respective binary image to ensure that the process image in memory has not been tampered with after execution. This is useful for general security auditing purposes as other methods that rely strictly on checking disk image checksums are not entirely reliable if only the process image is being tampered with.
