One use is to filter all incoming SMTP SYN packets for spam filtering. NatACL Added 2004-05-07 NatACL is a authentication daemon for NAT and Transparent Proxy. The authentication input is done by the browser, it will redirect any URL to a internal page, asking for login and password. If the login and password are correct, it will create a NAT rule to forward the traffic, or redirect to the proxy port ( in case of transparent proxy ). GNUnet Added 2004-05-06 GNUnet is a peer-to-peer framework with focus on providing security. All link-to-link messages in the network are confidential and authenticated. The framework provides a transport abstraction layer and can currently encapsulate the peer-to-peer traffic in UDP, TCP, or SMTP messages. GNUnet supports accounting to provide contributing nodes with better service. The primary service build on top of the core GNUnet framework is anonymous file sharing. GNU Transport Layer Security Library Added 2004-04-14 GNU Transport Layer Security Library is a library which implements a secure layer over a reliable transport layer such as TCP/IP. It implements the TLS 1.0 and SSL 3.0 protocols. GnuTLS is available for beta testing. C-Kermit Added 2004-04-13 C-Kermit is a combined serial and network communication software package offering a consistent, medium-independent, cross-platform approach to connection establishment, terminal sessions, file transfer, character-set translation, numeric and alphanumeric paging, and automation of communication tasks. Recent versions include FTP and HTTP clients as well as an SSH interface, all of which can be scripted and aware of character-sets. It supports built-in security methods, including Kerberos IV, Kerberos V, SSL/TLS, and SRP, FTP protocol features such as MLSD, and source-code parity with Kermit 95 2.1 for Windows and OS/2. Hatchet Added 2004-04-12 Hatchet is a log parsing and viewing utility for OpenBSD's PF firewall software. It presents HTML output of logged events and utilization graphs using pfstat. Ethereal Added 2004-03-26 Ethereal is a network protocol analyzer, or "packet sniffer", that lets you capture and interactively browse the contents of network frames. The goal of the project is to create a commercial-quality packet analyzer for Unix, and the most useful packet analyzer on any platform. Helios qmail Added 2004-03-22 Helios qmail is an advanced qmail distribution based on qmail-sql. It supports SMTP, SMTPS, POP3, POP3S, IMAP, and IMAPS services. It also features antivirus and antispam filters, antispoof, SMTP-AUTH, SMTP-after-POP/IMAP, a PHP5 API, and many other useful tools. Syslog Management Tool Added 2004-03-11 The Syslog Management Tool (SMT) is a Web-based system that collects syslog messages using a modified version of Modular Syslog. It processes them for errors and generate alerts, launches programs, or sends emails based on user-defined actions. Since it uses a Web console, rules, hosts, and much more can be centrally managed. It is designed to be disaster resilient by distributing components throughout a global enterprise to survive Web console loss, database loss, or syslog server loss. Access Point Utilities for Unix Added 2004-03-08 Access Point Utilities for Unix is a set of utilities that configure and monitor a Wireless Access Point under Unix. It is known to compile (with GCC and the IBM C compiler) and run under Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, MacOS X, AIX, and QNX. Browse by category |
