It creates an rsa or dsa key if needed and copies the public half to the server. Once the process is done, you'll be able to log in with the passphrase and key instead of a password. Paketto Keiretsu Added 2002-11-19 The Paketto Keiretsu is a collection of tools that use new and unusual strategies for manipulating TCP/IP networks. They tap functionality within existing infrastructure and stretch protocols beyond what they were originally intended for. It includes Scanrand, an unusually fast network service and topology discovery system, Minewt, a user space NAT/MAT router, linkcat, which presents a Ethernet link to stdio, Paratrace, which traces network paths without spawning new connections, and Phentropy, which uses OpenQVIS to render arbitrary amounts of entropy from data sources in three dimensional phase space. Project SCIM Added 2002-10-16 The Secure Cryptographic Instant messenger now has a new release (this is now version 1.6) with a load of extra features including encrypted multi user chat, hyperlink support, conversation archiving as well as the classics of P2P fully encrypted chat. Python OpenSSL Wrappers Added 2002-09-20 Python OpenSSL Wrappers (POW) is an early release as it is now. The intention was to quickly cover the breadth of the OpenSSL library, then the depth of particular areas. Future releases will focus on bug fixes, and filling missing gaps in the API. The digests and ciphers should be adequate for most purposes as should the SSL wrappers. Although certificates and CRLs can be generated using this library, no extension support has been included in the current release. Palm::Zetetic::Strip Added 2002-09-09 Palm::Zetetic::Strip is a set of Perl 5 modules that provides an interface to the Palm database (PDB) files for Strip, a password and account manager from zetetic.net for the Palm computing platform. It uses the IDEA and AES algorithms to decrypt the data from PDB files. Secure Cryptographic Instant Messaging Added 2002-08-07 The Project SCIM application allows you to send Encrypted Instant Messages to your friends and other contacts. The software is free for non-commercial users and contains a load of cool features. Simp (Secway's Instant Messenger Privacy) Added 2002-07-17 Simp (Secway's Instant Messenger Privacy) is a tool developed by Secway to secure your online MSN Messenger conversations. Simp works by encrypting messages before they are sent over the Internet and decrypting them when they arrive at your contacts. Once installed on your and your friends computer, Simp will prevent anyone from reading your conversations. Gnuzza Added 2002-07-12 Gnuzza is a peer to peer (p2p) encrypted chat client for both Windows and Linux. It features Diffie Hellman key exchange (selectable from 1024 to 4096 bit), user authentication, and offers the choice of 3DES, Blowfish, Twofish, CAST5, and Rijndael as symmetric ciphers. Hashish Added 2002-07-10 Hashish is a file or string hashing utility with a GUI frontend. It is cross-platform and supports many types of cryptographic hashes (including SHA, MD5, and RIPEMD-160). Enigma Mailer Added 2002-05-17 Enigmailer allows you to send enciphered email with an optional password hint. The recipient receives a mail message with a link to the script to facilitate deciphering. It comes in two versions, one for enciphering mail, the other also supporting multiple recipients, read receipts, attachments, and logging to allow the recipient to verify the credentials of the sender. Unlike other secure mail systems, it allows you to use your existing email address rather than forcing you to setup and use yet another one, and it does not require the recipient to have software installed on their machine (other than a browser).
