It helps protect your infrastructure with a set of monitoring and metric trending tools including Big Brother, Orca, Nessus, Integrit, and Larrd. The portal utilizes LDAP to store site-specific preferences for SysNav components. These preferences are templated and then used by SysNav's middle layer to generate Cfengine and component configuration files. honeyd Added 2003-11-26 Honeyd is a small daemon that creates virtual hosts on a network. The hosts can be configured to run arbitrary services, and their TCP personality can be adapted so that they appear to be running certain versions of operating systems. Honeyd enables a single host to claim multiple addresses on a LAN for network simulation. It is possible to ping the virtual machines, or to traceroute them. Any type of service on the virtual machine can be simulated according to a simple configuration file. Instead of simulating a service, it is also possible to proxy it to another machine. Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse Added 2003-11-20 Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse (DCC) is a system of clients and servers that collect and count checksums related to mail messages. The counts can be used by SMTP servers and mail user agents to detect and reject bulk mail. DCC servers can exchange common checksums. The checksums include values that are "fuzzy", or constant across common variations in bulk messages Inflex Added 2003-11-17 Inflex is an email scanner which encapsulates your existing sendmail server setup. It scans both incoming and outgoing email and it does not alter your current /etc/sendmail.cf file. It can scan for email viruses, unwanted file types (eg. EXE, BMP, MPEG) and file names (eg. prettypark.exe). It can also be used to scan for text snippets within emails and to insert disclaimers into outbound emails. pam_passwdqc Added 2003-11-03 pam_passwdqc is a simple password strength checking module for PAM-aware password changing programs, such as passwd(1). In addition to checking regular passwords, it offers support for passphrases and can provide randomly generated passwords. All features are optional and can be (re-)configured without rebuilding. mod_securid Added 2003-10-30 The mod_securid Apache module implements RSA SecurID authentication for the Apache Web server. It allows administrators to restrict access to Web sites (or parts of Web sites) to users authenticated using a SecurID token and an ACE server. nefu Added 2003-10-28 nefu (network fidelity utility) is a Unix daemon that monitors services over the network. It uses a "no false alarms" fault verification algorithm, and understands network dependancies. Natively-monitored protocols include ICMP echo (ping), DNS, HTTP, POP, NTP, IMAP, SMTP, and LDAP, as well as having facilities to execute external programs. Status pages are available via finger or the Web. Pidentd Added 2003-10-22 Pidentd v3 is a much improved version of the original Ident daemon both in terms of speed, code quality and features. Features include multithreading, a "configure" script, startup autodetection, much clearer/rewritten C code, doesn't run as root after startup, has a configuration file and can be started from /etc/inittab (on systems using a SysV init). Autossh Added 2003-10-20 Autossh is a program to monitor and automatically reestablish SSH connections. It is similar to rstunnel (Reliable SSH Tunnel), however, it is implemented in C, and is easier to set up and use, especially for connections to multiple hosts. Autossh has been compiled and tested on OpenBSD, Linux, and Solaris, and should run without needing changes on FreeBSD and NetBSD. Webmin Usermonitor Added 2003-10-17 Webmin Usermonitor is a Webmin module that allows you to view all user connections to the system which are based on Telnet, SSH, or Samba. It is able to kill a user's connection or send a message to the user. Browse by category |
