Rootkit Hunter Added 2004-08-19 Rootkit scanner is scanning tool to ensure you for about 99.9% you're clean of nasty tools. This tool scans for rootkits, backdoors and local exploits by running tests like: - MD5 hash compare - Look for default files used by rootkits - Wrong file permissions for binaries - Look for suspected strings in LKM and KLD modules - Look for hidden files - Optional scan within plaintext and binary files Rootkit Hunter is released as GPL licensed project and free for everyone to use. Lepton's Crack Added 2004-07-26 Lepton's Crack is a generic password cracker. It is easily-customizable with a simple plugin system and allows system administrators to review the quality of the passwords being used on their systems. It can perform a dictionary-based (wordlist) attack as well as a brute force (incremental) password scan. It supports standard MD4 hash, standard MD5 hash, NT MD4/Unicode, Lotus Domino HTTP password (R4), and SHA-1 hash formats. LM (LAN Manager) plus appending and prepending Clam Antivirus Added 2004-07-23 Clam AntiVirus is an anti-virus toolkit for Unix. The main purpose of this software is the integration with mail servers (attachment scanning). The package provides a flexible and scalable multi-threaded daemon, a commandline scanner, and a tool for automatic updating via Internet. The programs are based on a shared library distributed with the Clam AntiVirus package, which you can use in your own software. CryptoHeaven Added 2004-07-19 CryptoHeaven offers secure email and online file sharing/storage. Its main features are secure and highly encrypted services such as group collaboration, file sharing, email, online storage, and instant messaging. It integrates multi-user based security into email, instant messaging, and file storage and sharing in one unique package. It provides real time communication for text and data transfers in a multi-user secure environment. The security and usability of CryptoHeaven is well-balanced; even the no-so-technically oriented computer users can enjoy this crypto product with very high level of encryption. MIMEDefang Added 2004-07-15 MIMEDefang is a flexible MIME e-mail scanner designed to protect Windows clients from viruses. It can alter or delete various parts of a MIME message according to a very flexible configuration file. It can also bounce messages with unnaceptable attachments. MIMEDefang works with Sendmail 8.11's new "Milter" API, which gives it much more flexibility than procmail-based approaches. DNSSEC Walker Added 2004-06-02 DNSSEC Walker is a tool to recover DNS zonefiles using the DNS protocol. The server does not have to support zonetransfer, but the zone must contain DNSSEC "NXT" records. SSpamM Added 2004-04-28 Semi's Spam Milter (sspamm) is a spam filter for Sendmail that utilizes spambayes, heurestic spam filtering, and virus scanning (BitDefender, not included). OSIRIS Added 2004-04-27 Osiris is a host integrity management system that can be used to monitor changes to a network of hosts over time and report those changes back to the administrator(s). Currently, this includes monitoring any changes to the filesystems. Osiris takes periodic snapshots of the filesystem and stores them in a database. These databases, as well as the configurations and logs, are all stored on a central management host. When changes are detected, Osiris will log these events to the system log and optionally send email to an administrator. In addition to files, Osiris has preliminary support for the monitoring of other system information including user lists, file system details, kernel modules, and network interface configurations (not included with in this beta release). DSPAM Added 2004-04-27 DSPAM is a server-side anti-spam agent for UNIX email servers. It masquerades as the email server's local delivery agent and filters/learns SPAM using a Bayesian statistical approach which provides an administratively maintenance-free, self-learning Anti-Spam service. Each email is broken down into its most interesting tokens, each assigned a spam probability. All probabilities are then combined to produce a statistical probability of spam.
