by bbzzdd
PlugProxy is a Java-based port forwarder/port debugger implementation used to forward data from one TCP port to another. It allows you to invisibly send a request from one site to another, and lets you debug or inspect data as it travels through the port forwarder.

File system investigator
Added 2004-04-26
by wrossi
File system investigator is a forensic tool for viewing filesystems. It is written entirely in Java, so it is platform independent. It allows viewing of ReiserFS and EXT2/3. While primarily intended as a forensics tool, it is also useful for Linux users who dual boot with another OS; it allows them to view and extract files from their partitions.

webfwlog
Added 2004-04-12
by Bob
Webfwlog allows users to design reports to use on logged data in whatever configuration they desire. Included are sample reports as a starting point. Reports can be sorted with a single click, or "drilled-down" all the way to the packet level, and saved for later use.

Darik's Boot and Nuke
Added 2004-03-24
by Darik Horn
Darik's Boot and Nuke (DBAN) is a self-contained boot floppy that securely wipes the hard disks of most computers. DBAN will automatically and completely delete the contents of any hard disk that it can detect, which makes it an appropriate utility for bulk or emergency data destruction.

by Anthony G Persaud

It uses the XML twig library for parsing, and supports filters. A module such as Nmap::Scanner is required to actually perform a scan.

ePointPGP
Added 2004-03-08
by Daniel Nagy
ePointPGP provides limited OpenPGP functionality for Java applications and applets, using the available crypto providers rather than implementing its own. It is extremely lightweight, and functionality that is not required can be safely left out.

IRC Defender
Added 2004-02-24
by Brain
IRC Defender is a Perl program for protecting your IRC network against virus drones, general troublemakers, ban evasion, and attacks. It is fully modular, able to unload and load modules on the fly, and comes with several modules to ban anatoly/fyle virus drones, block unauthorised cgi:irc sites, conduct ctcp version surveys, maintain ctcp version blacklists, and (most importantly) set regexp-based akills.

Network Security Policy Compiler
Added 2004-02-24
by Heinz Knutzen
The Network Security Policy Compiler (NetSPoC) is a tool for security management of large computer networks with different security domains. It generates configuration files for packet filters controlling the borders of security domains. It provides its own language for describing security policy and the topology of a network. The security policy is a set of rules that state which packets are allowed to pass the network and which are not. NetSPoC is topology aware; a rule for traffic from A to B is automatically applied to all managed packet filters on the path from A to B.
