It will test pretty much every network operation you could want to know about. AATools will check Email properties, Scan ports and proxies, give network and system statuses, clean up unnecessary registry entries in your registry, etc. The information it conveys is easy to digest and setting up a test is likewise very simple. A worthwhile download for anyone wanting to gather info on their network or PC. AATools should be a part of your security toolkit and you should employ them regularly. NGSecureWeb Added 2002-02-14 NGSecureWeb is a security module for Web Servers. It acts as an application IDS/firewall, preventing security bugs from being exploited. It has the ability to check for shellcodes (even polymorphic ones), buffer overflows, forbidden words, long URLs, long GET arguments, long POST arguments, long HEADERS, etc., in the HTTP request. If the IDS engine detects a possible attack, the firewall engine stops the request. The Apache and Netscape Enterprise Web servers are supported. Typhon Added 2002-02-06 Typhon, an updated version of Cerberus Internet Scanner, is a vulnerability assessment tool. It will scan a given host for known security holes and vulnerabilities. It does this by looking at the services offered by a host and each of these are examined for holes. For example, Typhon will check for over 180 known vulnerabilities in the web service or daemon offered by a server. Once a scan has been completed a report in HTML is produced detailing what security holes were found, the impact of those holes and how to fix them. Once these holes have been removed then the host will be more secure against attacks. As new vulnerabilities are discovered almost on a daily basis it is necessary to ensure that the Typhon is kept upto date and hosts are scanned on a regular basis. xScan Added 2002-02-05 X-Scan is a general network vulnerabilities scanner for scanning network vulnerabilities for specific IP address scope or stand-alone computer by multi-threading method. Plug-ins are supportable and GUI or CUI programs are separately provided. macMatch Added 2002-02-05 macMatch lets you search for files by their last write, last access or creation time without changing any of these times. A tool like this can be useful in a forensic investigation. LNS Added 2002-02-05 LNS is a tool that searches for NTFS streams (aka alternate data streams or multiple data streams). This can be useful in a forensic investigation. MacAnalysis Added 2002-01-07 MacAnalysis is a security auditing suite for your Macintosh to perform and help implement a security standard for your computer/network by performing a full security check of network protocols, open services, port scans, vulnerable CGI scripts and much more. This will scan your Macintosh, Unix, Windows, and Hardware for any vulnerable security holes! Anomy Mail Sanitizer Added 2002-01-07 The Anomy mail sanitizer is a filter designed to block email-based security risks, such as trojans and viruses. It can scan an arbitrarily complex RFC822 or MIME message and remove or rename attachments, truncate unusually long MIME header fields and sanitize HTML by disabling Javascript, etc. It uses a single-pass pure Perl MIME parser, which can make it both more efficient and more precise than other similar programs. The sanitizer has built-in support for third-party virus scanners. SendIP Added 2001-12-13 SendIP is a command line tool to allow sending arbitrary IP packets. SendIP has a large number of command line options to specify the content of every header of a TCP, UDP, ICMP or raw IP packet. It also allows any data to be added to the packet. Checksums can be calculated automatically, but if you wish to send out wrong checksums, that is supported too. Vulcan Added 2001-12-11 Vulcan was written to provide automated analysis of a computing environment, determining which services and servers need to be updated due to publicized security flaws. Therefore, its real strength resides not on the program itself, but on having vulnerability databases which are correct and as complete and up-to-date as possible. Browse by category |
