It will periodically check a specified FTP site, and if there is a new patch to be applied, downloads, applies, builds and installs it. Tepatche mantains a small status database to know in what is the status of each of the system's patches. Nikto Added 2003-06-16 Nikto is a PERL, open source web server scanner which supports SSL. Based on LibWhisker, it has features which Whisker 1.4 lacks, including proxy support, host authentication, and SSL. Nikto checks for (and if possible attempts to exploit) remote web server vulnerabilities and misconfigurations. It also looks for outdated software and modules, warns of any version specific problems, supports scans through proxies (with authentication), host Basic authentication and more. Data is kept in CSV format databases for easy maintenance, and supports the ability to automatically update local databases with current versions on the Nikto web site.Nikto is a PERL, open source web server scanner which supports SSL. PheTail Added 2003-06-13 PheTail automatically tails an amavisd-new logfile for activity. Whenever relevant activity is found, it is written to a SQL database. SpamCruncher Added 2003-06-09 SpamCruncher uses the SpamAssassin engine to identify spam on remote POP3 or IMAP servers. Wsh Added 2003-06-03 Wsh, "Web shell" is a remote UNIX/WIN shell, that works via HTTP/HTTPS. The package contains two perl scripts for server and client hosts: the first one is for console usage and the second one runs as CGI script on the target host. Firepass Added 2003-06-03 Firepass is a tunneling tool, allowing to bypass firewall restrictions and encapsulate data flows inside legal ones to use HTTP POST requests. TCP or UDP based protocols may be tunneled with Firepass. For now, both - client and server parts are written in Perl. C versions will be published soon. The Firepass key feature is that you may use several type of installation of the server part script in the external network. You do not need to bind any port on the external box. Everything looks clear from local and external boxes administrators point of view. There is only an usual HTTP dialog between client and server. The only problem is that HTTP messages are sends too often.. But this is configurable in the Firepass client with a special delay option between HTTP requests. It may be applied to some non time critical protocols. Firepass may also be usable for the reverse task, when the server script is located at the corporative web server and when client interact with it from the external network. wping Added 2003-04-09 wping is a Web-based graphical ping log. It logs ping response times to a user-defined list of hosts and produces a Web page that contains a current ping graph and a historic ping graph over a specified time period. Ping response times are averaged in order to give a smooth reading. NetMap network scanner Added 2003-03-20 NetMap is a network scanner written in Perl/GTK. It is not just another nmap frontend. It is a modularized network prober/scanner that just happens to have an nmap module. Incidentally, NetMap has nothing to do with the network weather mapper. my-swatch Added 2003-02-24 my-swatch pretends to be an implementation of msyslog and swatch together. What it pretends to accomplish is put all together, to log events to a remote database (like msyslog), and to awake triggers (like swatch). When a certain condition occurs you can be notified by email and awake certain events, like play a sound. You can also log the event to a remote database and use a Web browser to surf through the logs. Nate Kohari's regular expression pipe Added 2002-12-31 RE is a very flexible utility created to aid in the management of files. It will match filenames in a directory against a regular expression and execute a given shell command once for each file. The command which it executes can also contain Perl language expressions and can reference variables, both pre-defined by RE and declared by the user. Also, the regular expression can contain pattern captures, which can then be referenced in the commands, allowing manipulation of the files based on segments of their original filenames. Originally, RE was designed to mass-rename MP3 files based on part of the original filenames, but has evolved greatly and can be used for a multitude of different applications. Browse by category |
