All internal systems are hidden behind a firewall (or gateway) from the Internet. These utilities allow users from inside the network to get to archives and services on the Internet without requiring that they have an account on the gateway system. ICMP Monitor Added 2001-10-22 ICMP Monitor is a tool that uses the ICMP echo facility to monitor hosts, and determine if they are up or down. In the event they are down, ICMP Monitor will notify the system administrator. S/Key Added 2001-10-22 The S/KEY one-time password system provides authentication over networks that are subject to eavesdropping/replay attacks. This system has several advantages compared with other one-time or multi-use authentication systems. The user's secret password never crosses the network during login, or when executing other commands requiring authentication such as the UNIX passwd or su commands. No secret information is stored anywhere, including the host being protected, and the underlying algorithm may be (and it fact, is) public knowledge. The remote end of this system can run on any locally available computer. The host end could be integrated into any application requiring authentication. Cistron Radius Server Added 2001-10-22 Cistron RADIUS is an authentication and accounting server for terminal servers that speak the RADIUS protocol. The Cistron Radius server is mostly compatible with Livingston's 'radiusd-2.1', except without the s/key or menu support. It has additional features such as multiple DEFAULT entries with fall-through, a session database (who is online), the ability to limit connections on a per-user basis, and much more. Xtradius Added 2001-10-22 XtRadius is a freeware radius server implementation and its main feature is that it can handle user accounting & authentication informations via external fully configurable scripts. In this way you can write your own authentication and accounting routines without having to patch the radius server yourself. Srsh Simplified Restricted Shell Added 2001-10-22 Simplified Restricted Shell 0.1.3. Major purpose of this shell is to maintain `not permitted explictly then not allowed' policy on machines which provide shell access to users, which can not be trusted, while trying to keep KISS rule. Of course you should carefully check up and configure applications, which you allow your users to run, otherwise it still would be trivial to break your policy with badly configured pine or lynx for example. OSSH Added 2001-10-22 IIS_PROMISC Added 2001-10-22 MS-IIS Web Server auditing tool, it checks for many serious vulnerabilities using a Perl script, support proxy server and if is found a hole, prints it and the Patch URL. Tamandua Network Intrusion Detection Added 2001-10-22 Main features: Distributed sensors; Centralized console; Multi-layered signatures; Session-based network analysis; Multi-threaded packet capture; De-Fragmented packets analysis; Human readable signatures; Packet save session database; Convert your personal snort signs; Easy-to-install, Easy-to-use. Gag Added 2001-10-22 "gag" is a program to scan for "stacheldraht" agents, which are part of an active "stacheldraht" network. It will not detect trinoo, the original Tribe Flood Network (TFN), or TFN2K agents. Browse by category |
