USI++
Added 2001-10-22
by Sebastian Krahmer, krahmer@cs.uni-potsdam.de
It is a low-level network-library for sending/receiving IP-packets directly on so called 'raw sockets'. It can be used for network-monitoring also. Since version 1.2 it uses the packet capture library libpcap that is a portable library for fetching network-traffic on the datalink-layer.

Librnet
Added 2001-10-22
by Lorenzo Cavallaro, sullivan@sikurezza.org
Librnet, Library for Raw Networking, aims to provide powerfull and easy-to-use raw networking to the programmers who wish to develop their own `low-level' network related software, without thinking too much at the underlay layers.

TCP/IP library
Added 2001-10-22
by Komodia, webmaster@komodia.com
Tcpip_lib V2 is a library for Windows 2000 which allows arbitrary packet creation. It uses sockets 2 and opens up a raw socket, allowing you to send raw IP headers, do IP spoofing, and play with the nuts and bolts of networking protocols. Changes: now works also with NT (regular async sockets), supports regular sockets (async and blocked) and added ICMP. (samples like traceroute, ping, TCP server, simple attacker).

libformat
Added 2001-10-22
by Tim J. Robbins, fyre@eryf.net
libformat is a library for the Linux operating system that intercepts calls to the printf() family of functions (among others). Its purpose is to prevent so-called 'format string' attacks in which a possibly malicious user-supplied format string is used.

Libbtrace
Added 2001-10-22
by Juan M. Bello Rivas, rwxrwxrwx@synnergy.net
Debugging utility that provides printings of the backtrace of the current function.

Intel CDSA 2 Implementation
Added 2001-10-22
by Intel
The Common Data Security Architecture is composed of cryptographically signed modules that provide cryptographic, database, certificate, trust policy, authorization, biometric, and other services. CDSA 2 is an Open Group standard created by many companies and published freely. Intel has created an open source implmenetation of CDSA 2.

UDB
Added 2001-10-22
by Bjarni R. Einarsson, bre@netverjar.is
UDB consists of a library and some simple utilities for creating and maintaining a persistant shared-memory database associating users with IP addresses, or users with established TCP connections. The library is meant for proxies (e.g. HTTP filters or IRC proxies) which could benefit from knowing what user to associate with a dynamic IP address, or would need to pass user information on to a modified ident daemon.

Firewall Foundation Classes
Added 2001-10-22
by Rainbow Diamond, feedback@brd.ie
The "Firewall Foundation Classes" make up a reusable C++ library designed to aid in the construction of safe Internet clients, servers and firewalls. Programs built on FFC can run on Linux, FreeBSD, Windows '95, or Windows NT, with just a recompile. FFC is free for commercial and non-commercial use, and comes with full source code.

winpcap - W95
Added 2001-10-22
by Loris Degioanni, Piero Viano, Fulvio Risso, others - winpcap@netgroup-serv.polito.it
The packet capture driver is a device driver that adds to Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT and Windows 2000 the ability to capture and send raw packets in a way very similar to the Berkeley Packet Filter of UNIX kernels. Packet.dll is an API that can be used to access directly the functions of the BPF driver. WinPcap exports a set of primitives that are compatible with libpcap, the famous UNIX capture library. It offers a set of higher level functions to capture packets in a way independent from the underlying network hardware and operating system.
