It requires no knowledge of firewalls or how ipchains or iptables works. It is perfect for home users wanting to secure their systems, but can also be configured for internet connection gateways or server systems. http_filter Added 2001-10-22 http_filter is an HTTP tunnel with filtering and multiplexing. It runs on a firewall, sitting in front of not-so-secure Web servers (like IIS), and it accepts requests, applies a set of rules to them, and allows the requests to be passed through to the back-end Web server only if they pass all filters. The rules can be defined globally or per-server. rTables Added 2001-10-22 rTables is a detailed, customizable iptables firewall for Linux 2.4.x, easily implemented on boxes with one to three network interfaces. It is currently set up to handle a single external LAN, single internal LAN, and a single internal DMZ. Phreak Firewall Added 2001-10-22 The Phreak Firewall helps you set up your own firewall with IP masquerading. It has an easy installation for the beginner Linux user. IP Firewall Accounting (IPFA) Added 2001-10-22 IP Firewall Accounting (IPFA) is software designed to reside on a Linux gateway box doing IP accounting and IP filtering. IPFA can do Virtual DMZ Setting, per-ip accounting, free IP setting, user management, per-month, per-day, and per-minute logging, MAC-IP binding, firewall rule setting, online user monitoring, and more. Secure4U Added 2001-10-22 Secure4U v4.1 is the first MS Windows based application firewall and a winner of the 1999 European IST Prize. By using the sandbox technology a system administrator can for the first time control any, known or unknown, application's behavior. Secure4U offers Protection against Hostile Code (ActiveX, Java, Trojan Horses, etc.). It is suited for enterprise environments and includes among other features: · Encapsulation of any application running within the supported OS environments · Default sandbox for unknown applications · Cache and Cookie management · Fine grain generation of configuration sets down to single system objects · Blocking / limiting applications to a specific or sets of IP ports (ONLY in Network version) · Central configuration tools and deployment support (ONLY in Network version) IntraSite Added 2001-10-22 Intrasite DialUp Firewall is a DialUp firewall with many features such as support for transparent proxy (FTP, HTTP, SSL) and masquerading. It is easy to use and easy to configure. PMFirewall Added 2001-10-22 PMFirewall is an Ipchains Firewall and Masquerading Configuration Utility for Linux. It was designed to allow a beginner to build a custom firewall with little or no ipchains experience. This firewall should work for most Workstations, Servers and Dual NIC routers using either a dialup or LAN setup. It is restrictive to outside attacks while still being transparent to those inside. Features include: - Autodetection of the IP Address and Netmask of each interface. - Blocking of NetBIOS, NetBUS, Back Orifice and Samba attacks. - Protection against IP Spoofing Attacks. - Logging of all DENIED packets. - Manipulation of TOS bits of the packet for optomizing transfers.
