EchoWall Firewall Added 2002-01-11 EchoWall is a firewall configuration package for creating an ipchains-based Linux firewall. It is optimized for the Linux Router Project (LRP), but was originally created for a Debian platform. EchoWall's aim is simplicity for entry-level users. It presumes the user is using a Linux box as a masquerading firewall/router for a single Class-C address range. It manages services in an interesting way: instead of indicating the IP addresses of machines you want to act as servers, you instead specify them by their MAC address. When run, the echowall script automatically detects the current IP address associated with this MAC address. This allows you to connect a service to a machine whose IP address is dynamically assigned. IPtables Firewall Webmin Module Added 2001-12-19 The IPtables Firewall Webmin Module helps you easily administrate an iptables firewall over a Web interface with the Webmin Look and Feel. It has three modes: Newbie (select between 5 predefined security levels), Template (configure on a per Interface/per Protocol base) and expert (rule iptables as a guru has to). rc.firewall Added 2001-12-19 rc.firewall is an ipchains-based firewall script with extensive support for network services (including NFS, IPSec VPNs, Proxies, etc.), masquerading, port forwarding (including definitions for games), and IP accounting. Protections include spoofing, stuffed routing/masqerading, DoS, smurf attacks, outgoing port scans, and much more. Multiple private and public interfaces are also supported. Linux Access-List Config Utility Added 2001-12-13 This program takes the exact syntax of a Cisco and creates Linux firewalls. It can configure both iptables and Traffic Control Rules using CBQ from simplified config files. It is aimed at administrators that want a simple way to convert to Linux access lists from Cisco ones, and want to have uniform config syntax/setups across all Cisco/Linux systems. The way it organizes tables basically makes it like a Cisco, building tables that are then attached to interfaces, just like access lists. It has a command line interface for configuration. Linux VPN Masquerade Added 2001-12-13 Linux VPN Masquerade allows you to use an IPSec or PPTP VPN host (client or server) behind a Linux masquerading firewall. No more hogging the cable modem when you need to connect to the office network. Qtfw Added 2001-11-29 Qtfw is a Qt GUI frontend for FreeBSD's ipfw utility. It helps configure the firewall in FreeBSD with a nice and comprehensive user interface. User can edit rules in the current list, save rules for future use, configure kernel sysctl variables, and finally, create shell script from qtfw rules. Firewall Generator Added 2001-10-22 Firewall Generator is a CGI script that generates a bash shell script that contains a list of commands for configuring a set of firewall rules. The CGI script allows the user to select which services should be open and which network interfaces should be open. DummyIdentd Server Daemon Added 2001-10-22 DummyIdentd Server Daemon is a Perl program that accepts identd requests (port 113), and responds with a valid response, but giving out no useful information. It is written in Perl, and is suitable for running on company gateways/firewalls to enable your users to access services such as IRC, which require identd. Webmin module for rcf Linux Firewall Added 2001-10-22 Webmin module for rcf Linux Firewall is an administration module that makes it possible to configure the firewall of any machine through the usage of Webmin.
