All it does it to copy its input to a given backup file. Its goal is to allow administrators to create backup-only accounts. MasarLabs NoArp Added 2004-03-04 MasarLabs NoArp is a Linux kernel module that filters and drops unwanted ARP requests. It is useful when you need to add an alias to the loopback interface to use a load balancer. Ked Password Manager Added 2004-03-01 Ked Password Manager helps to manage large amounts of passwords and related information, and simplifies the tasks of searching and entering password data. It is written as an extensible framework, which allows you to plug in custom password database backends and custom user interface frontends. BitDefender AntiVirus for qmail Added 2004-02-24 BitDefender for qmail is a powerful antivirus software for Linux mail servers, which provides proactive protection of message traffic at the email server level, eliminating the risk to the entire network that could be caused by a negligent user. All messages, both sent and received, are scanned in real time, avoiding the possible infections and preventing anyone from sending an infected message. BitDefender claims 100% detection rate for all viruses in the wild (ITW) through its powerful scanning engines certified by the most prestigious testing labs (ICSA in February 2003, Virus Bulletin 100% in June 2003 and CheckMark in August 2003). Animail Added 2004-02-24 Animail is a multiserver POP3/APOP/IMAP4Rev1 (with or without SSL) mail retrieval utility. It features an advanced filtering system based on blacklisting, whitelisting, or a combination of both. It is possible to send an autoresponse which prompts people to reply and add themselves to the 'autoaccept' file. It also allows filters based on a regular expression which matches against the email headers. (If a message is filtered, only the header is downloaded, not the entire body.) Animail also features download ordering options. For example, you can configure it to download the smaller messages first. Different delivery options are available, including mailbox, maildir, local SMTP, and pipe to command. Nast Added 2004-02-18 Nast is a packet sniffer and a LAN analyzer based on Libnet and Libpcap. It can sniff the packets on a network interface in normal mode or in promiscuous mode. It dumps the headers of packets and the payload in ASCII or ASCII-hex format. Various packet filters can be applied. The data sniffed can be saved in a separate file. As an analysis tool, it can check for other NICs on the network which are set in promiscuous mode, build a list of all hosts on a LAN, find a gateway, perform port scanning on a multiple hosts, catch daemon banners, follow the TCP data stream, reset a connection, and determine whether a link type is a hub or switch. Mailfilter Added 2004-02-16 Mailfilter is a flexible utility to get rid of unwanted spam mails, before having to go through the trouble of downloading them into the local computer. It offers support for one or many POP3 accounts and is especially useful for dialup connections via modem. You can define your own filters (rules) to determine which e-mails should be delivered and which are considered waste. MailStripper Pro (Linux x86) Added 2004-02-16 MailStripper Pro is a mail scanner that aims to remove spam and viruses from incoming mail using the F-Prot anti-virus. It is written in Tcl and was designed to be MTA-independent. Junk Mail Buffering Agent Added 2004-02-16 Junk Mail Buffering Agent is a tool for preventing delivery of email until the sender has confirmed his address. It is intended for use in conjunction with a spam filter to prevent delivery of suspected spam email messages unless the sender is confirmed as valid. QtFprot Added 2004-02-16 QtFprot is a frontend for FPROT 4.x, a free (for personal use) Linux virus-scanner. It's similar to XFprot, but written in Qt.
