OpenCA is based on many Open-Source Projects. Among the supported software is OpenLDAP, OpenSSL, Apache Project, Apache mod_ssl. socklog Added 2004-03-01 socklog cooperates with the daemontools package to create a small and secure replacement for syslogd. socklog supports system logging through Unix domain sockets (/dev/log) and UDP sockets (0.0.0.0:514) with the help of daemontools svscan, supervise, and multilog. socklog provides a different network logging concept, and also does log event notification. multilog has built in log file rotation based on file size, so there is no need for any cron jobs to rotate the logs. socklog is small, secure, and reliable. MailScanner Added 2004-03-01 MailScanner is an Email virus scanner and spam tagger. It supports sendmail and Exim MTAs, and the Sophos, McAfee, F-Prot, F-Secure, CommandAV, InoculateIT, Inoculan 4.x, Kaspersky, RAV, and Panda anti-virus scanners. It supports SpamAssassin for highly successful spam identification. It is specifically designed to handle Denial Of Service attacks. It is very easy to install, and requires no changes at all to your sendmail.cf file. It is designed to be lightweight, and won't grind your mail system to a halt with its load. It can be integrated into any email system, regardless of the software in use. GKrellM Added 2004-02-24 GKrellM is a GTK-based stacked monitor program that charts SMP CPUs, disks, load, active net interfaces, and internet connections. There are also builtin monitors for memory and swap, file systems with mount/umount feature, mailbox checking including POP3 and IMAP, clock/calendar, laptop battery, sensors (temperatures, voltages, and fans), and uptime. It has LEDs for the net monitors and an on/off button and online timer for PPP. There is a GUI popup for configuration, plugin extensions can be installed, and many themes are available. It also features a client/server monitoring capability. Nast Added 2004-02-18 Nast is a packet sniffer and a LAN analyzer based on Libnet and Libpcap. It can sniff the packets on a network interface in normal mode or in promiscuous mode. It dumps the headers of packets and the payload in ASCII or ASCII-hex format. Various packet filters can be applied. The data sniffed can be saved in a separate file. As an analysis tool, it can check for other NICs on the network which are set in promiscuous mode, build a list of all hosts on a LAN, find a gateway, perform port scanning on a multiple hosts, catch daemon banners, follow the TCP data stream, reset a connection, and determine whether a link type is a hub or switch. Stunnel Added 2004-02-16 The stunnel program is designed to work as an SSL encryption wrapper between remote client and local (inetd-startable) or remote server. It can be used to add SSL functionality to commonly used inetd daemons like POP2, POP3, and IMAP servers without any changes in the programs' code. It will negotiate an SSL connection using the OpenSSL or SSLeay libraries. It calls the underlying crypto libraries, so stunnel supports whatever cryptographic algorithms you compiled into your crypto package. Net::RawIP Added 2004-02-09 Net::RawIP is a perl module that can manipulate raw IP packets, with an optional feature for manipulating Ethernet headers. m0n0wall Added 2004-02-09 m0n0wall is an all-in-one firewall software package (based on FreeBSD) geared towards embedded PCs. It includes an easy-to-use Web interface like commercial firewall boxes do. PHP is used instead of shell scripts, and the entire system configuration is stored in a single XML-formatted file. There is support for wireless LAN, VPN, traffic shaping, and more. LSH Added 2004-02-09 lsh is an implementation of the SSH protocol version 2. It is under active development. Developer contributions are welcome from both inside and outside the US. IMAPFilter Added 2004-02-09 IMAPFilter connects to remote IMAP mail servers and processes messages according to defined filters (rules). It is intended to be executed before a user accesses his/her mailboxes. Browse by category |
