Built on the proactively secure OpenBSD operating system, and featuring an HTML based graphic interface for easy monitoring. fupids Added 2003-12-09 fupids (the fuzzy userprofile intrusion detection system) is a user-profile based IDS for the OpenBSD kernel. It modifies certain syscalls in order to detect suspicious behavior. For example, it watches for network devices being set to promiscuous mode, and it watches for the creation of listen() sockets by users. fupids also handles a program profile for your local users, and it can find attackers who overtake existing accounts. Firewall Builder for PIX Added 2003-12-09 Firewall Builder for PIX hides the complexity of PIX command line interface and automatically configures options and parameters that usually make manual configuration a real chore. With this module, the same workstation running Firewall Builder can create and manage security policy on Cisco PIX firewalls, as well as on firewalls built with iptables, OpenBSD pf, or ipfilter. Pound Added 2003-12-01 Pound is a reverse HTTP proxy, load balancer, and SSL wrapper. It proxies client HTTPS requests to HTTP backend servers, distributes the requests among several servers while keeping sessions, supports HTTP/1.1 requests even if the backend server(s) are HTTP/1.0, and sanitizes requests. honeyd Added 2003-11-26 Honeyd is a small daemon that creates virtual hosts on a network. The hosts can be configured to run arbitrary services, and their TCP personality can be adapted so that they appear to be running certain versions of operating systems. Honeyd enables a single host to claim multiple addresses on a LAN for network simulation. It is possible to ping the virtual machines, or to traceroute them. Any type of service on the virtual machine can be simulated according to a simple configuration file. Instead of simulating a service, it is also possible to proxy it to another machine. fwanalog Added 2003-11-26 fwanalog is a shell script that parses and summarizes firewall logfiles. It understands logs from ipf (xBSD, Solaris), OpenBSD 3.x pf, Linux 2.2 ipchains, Linux 2.4 iptables, and some routers and firewalls (Linksys, Cisco). The excellent log analysis program, Analog (which is also free software), is used to create the reports. PAM X509 Authentication Module Added 2003-11-18 This module provides password-less login authentication on local consoles based on X509 certificates and private keys stored on some personal data holders like USB sticks, Bluetooth mobile phones, etc. It currently supports authentication with a user certificate and private key in some auto-mountable location using supermount or automount, such as a USB stick, floppy disk, CD, SD card, etc., or from a Bluetooth device. sud Added 2003-11-17 sud (superuser daemon) permits a user to switch to root privileges and to use a suid program in a nosuid environment. It is based on a client/server model and on the ability to pass file descriptors between processes. sud permits you to choose your authentication method, and your effective credentials will be checked by using a Unix domain socket. Inflex Added 2003-11-17 Inflex is an email scanner which encapsulates your existing sendmail server setup. It scans both incoming and outgoing email and it does not alter your current /etc/sendmail.cf file. It can scan for email viruses, unwanted file types (eg. EXE, BMP, MPEG) and file names (eg. prettypark.exe). It can also be used to scan for text snippets within emails and to insert disclaimers into outbound emails. IPA Added 2003-11-12 IPA allows one to perform IP accounting based on FreeBSD IPv4/v6 Firewall, OpenBSD Packet Filter, and IP Filter accounting rules on Free/Net/OpenBSD. It supports limits for accounting rules, and limits events such as "limit is reached" and "reached limit is expired." It also has a flexible configuration file with many sections and options.
