mpscan
Added 2003-07-03
by Markus Fraczek
mpscan is a parallel network scanner that checks for open ports. It uses select() to increase its speed and was designed for rapidly scanning large networks, but also works with a single IP.

flashboot for OpenBSD
Added 2003-06-19
by Damien Miller
flashboot for OpenBSD is a set of makefiles, scripts, and support tools to build an OpenBSD image suitable for booting from read-only media, such as flash memory. The default image (<7Mb) is an image for a firewall/router with support for IPsec, SSH, IPv4 and IPv6 packet filtering, DHCP (client and server), and PPPoE. This image may be further trimmed or extended by editing the packing list files included in the distribution.

Easy Firewall Generator
Added 2003-05-26
by Scott Morizot
Easy Firewall Generator is a PHP Web application that generates an iptables firewall script. The generated script is designed for a single system connected to the Internet or a system acting as a gateway/firewall for a small private network. The generator prompts recursively for a variety of options. When the selected options form a complete set, it generates and returns a ciommented firewall script based on those options. The generator includes documentation on iptables and each option.

ZorbIPtraffic
Added 2003-05-26
by Poulet Fabrice
ZorbIPtraffic shows the IP traffic on a network interface in real time. It can display traffic statistics for each IP on your internal network, and it summarizes the total traffic for each IP per year, per month, and per day. All information is stored in a MySQL database, which makes it easy to search the traffic measurements for a specific day. ZorbIPtraffic only works if you use iptables.

LFT

by MainNerve
LFT (formerly FFT) is an alternative traceroute program for displaying the route packets take to an IP network host/socket. Unlike Van Jacobson's traceroute, which is available on almost every platform today, LFT uses TCP in order to elicit ICMP TIME_EXCEEDEDs or other IP route data. As a result, LFT often executes much faster and sees behind some configurations of firewalls. Its stateful engine lets the user know when it encounters a stateful firewall or other interesting conditions. It also does AS number and netblock name lookups en route. Most importantly, LFT can trace specific TCP-based protocol routes (not just IP) to assist network engineers with manual fault isolation of network application problems.

Phayoune Firewall

by Satit Phermsawang
Phayoune Firewall is a Thai Linux distribution that is intended to be used as a stateful inspection firewall. It runs directly from CD- ROM and does not require a hard drive. It supports port forwarding, an online monitor, Squid blocking for worms, virii, and adult content, and a menu-based setup that stores configuration details on a floppy.

dnsreflector
Added 2003-04-28
by Armin Wolfermann
The dnsreflector daemon listens for DNS queries on a local UDP port and answers with records pointing back to localhost. Combined with OpenBSD's packet filter pf(4), this works as a bandwidth efficient spamtrap.

FloodGuard Alert
Added 2003-04-23
by Reactive Network Solutions, Inc.
FloodGuard Alert is designed to detect all forms of flooding and bandwidth attacks, including DDoSes and worms. The software initially trains on ingress traffic directed at your protection domain that it uses to statistically identify anomalous traffic. It also suggests initial mitigation steps (ACLs/filters) that can be taken to stop the attack while letting legitimate traffic through. It comes with a comprehensive Java-based GUI that facilitates traffic visualization, configuration, control, analysis, report generation, and SYSLOG- and email-based communications.

Iptables made easy

by e5ke
Iptables made easy is a set of PHP scripts that are based on Iptables script generator. It uses PHP to make an iptables script based on the provided values. It features NAT functionality that works with dynamic IP addresses. It makes input and forward rules which are easy to modify after the script is written. There are also built-in checks to make sure that the administrator doesn't get locked out because of wrong network information.

NetProtect Firewall Router

by vpnguru
The Netprotect Firewall is a spin-off from the IPCOP GPL Firewall, with many extensions built-in. One big goal is to have a product that is usable in corporate environments.
