Onjoin bots now have a random version reply to look more like real users, and onjoin bots will not check channels that are already monitored with a monbot. There is updated documentation and many bugfixes for existing code. cosign Added 2004-02-05 cosign is a Web single sign on system that allows users to authenticate once per session and access any protected Web resources at the institution. If used, passwords are sent only to a single, central URL. Sessions have both idle and hard timeouts, and users can logout of all protected services by visiting a single URL. The use of public key cryptography ensures that a compromise of a protected Web server has no impact on the security of other participating servers. Jacksum Added 2004-02-02 Jacksum is a free checksum utility entirely written in Java. It supports most common checksum algorithms (Adler32, BSD sum, POSIX cksum, CRC-16, CRC-32, MD2, MD5, SHA, and Unix System V sum). SpamFilters Added 2004-01-28 This release adds build-time options to decode RFC-2047 "Subject" text, reject mail with missing or empty "Subject" text, and log a summary of rejecting rulesets. The subject filters have been expanded, and the processing of them is much more efficient. Support scripts and programs have been updated and/or added. op Added 2004-01-26 op allows fine-grained control of access to super-user privileges through easy to remember mnemonics. Its features include user and host based access control, and command expiration. GNU Generic Security Service Library Added 2004-01-22 Generic Security Service (GSS) is an implementation of the Generic Security Service API (GSSAPI). It is used by network applications to provide security services, such as authenticating SMTP/IMAP, via the GSSAPI SASL mechanism. It consists of a library and a manual, and a Kerberos 5 mechanism that supports mutual authentication and the DES and 3DES ciphers. MyPasswordSafe Added 2004-01-14 MyPasswordSafe is a straightforward, easy-to-use password manager that uses the Blowfish algorithm to store encrypt passwords. It uses the same file format as Password Safe. SmokePing Added 2004-01-06 SmokePing is a network latency monitor which works in a way that is similar to MRTG. It measures network latency to a configurable set of destinations on the network, and displays its findings in easy-to-read Web pages. SmokePing has special support for monitoring hosts with dynamic IP addresses. SmokePing uses RRDtool as its logging and graphing back-end, making the system very efficient. The presentation of the data on the Web is done through a CGI which creates graphs on demand. Big Brother Added 2004-01-06 Big Brother is a combination of monitoring methods. Unlike SNMP where information is just collected and devices polled, Big Brother is designed in such a way that each local system broadcasts its own information to a central location. Simultaneously, Big Brother also polls all networked systems from a central location. This creates a highly efficient and redundant method for proactive network monitoring. Fingerprint Verification System Added 2003-12-29 Fingerprint Verification System is an easy-to-use library that allows programmers to integrate fingerprint technology into their software without specific know-how. It is fast and small, and is great for embedded systems. Browse by category |
