Onjoin bots now have a random version reply to look more like real users, and onjoin bots will not check channels that are already monitored with a monbot. There is updated documentation and many bugfixes for existing code. Packit Added 2004-01-12 Packit is a network auditing tool that allows you to monitor, manipulate, and inject customized IPv4 traffic into your network. This can be extremely valuable for testing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, port scanning, and general TCP/IP auditing. It currently supports the ability to define nearly all TCP, UDP, ICMP, IP, and Ethernet header options. It requires libnet 1.1 or greater as well as libpcap, and has been tested to run on FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, and Linux. CPU - Change Password Utility Added 2004-01-12 CPU is an LDAP user management tool based on FreeBSD's pw(8). CPU allows you to add or delete users from an LDAP directory as defined by RFC 2307 . You may use MD5, SHA1, or Crypt for a hashing scheme. CPU also allows you to take existing users from a Unix-style passwd file and import those users into the directory. braa Added 2004-01-12 Braa is a tool for making SNMP queries. It is able to query hundreds or thousands of hosts simultaneously, while being completely single-threaded. It does not need any SNMP libraries, as it is equipped with its own SNMP engine. However, it's good to have a complete SNMP package including "snmptranslate" installed somewhere, because for speed reasons, there is no ASN.1 parser in Braa, and all the SNMP OIDs need to be specified numerically. Big Brother Added 2004-01-06 Big Brother is a combination of monitoring methods. Unlike SNMP where information is just collected and devices polled, Big Brother is designed in such a way that each local system broadcasts its own information to a central location. Simultaneously, Big Brother also polls all networked systems from a central location. This creates a highly efficient and redundant method for proactive network monitoring. libstatgrab Added 2004-01-06 The libstatgrab library provides an easy-to-use interface for accessing system statistics and information. Available statistics include CPU, Load, Memory, Swap, Disk I/O, and Network I/O. It was developed to work on Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris. The package also includes two tools: saidar provides a curses-based interface for viewing live system statistics, and statgrab is a sysctl-like interface to the statistics. Portfwd Added 2003-12-31 Portfwd is a small C++ utility which forwards incoming TCP connections and/or UDP packets to remote hosts. Multiple forwarders can be specified in a flexible configuration file. There is support for FTP forwarding. Fingerprint Verification System Added 2003-12-29 Fingerprint Verification System is an easy-to-use library that allows programmers to integrate fingerprint technology into their software without specific know-how. It is fast and small, and is great for embedded systems. ekkoBSD Firewall Added 2003-12-29 ekkoBSD Firewall is a full-featured operating system with security enhancements, a state tracking packet filter, and a NAT firewall. Its features include firewall traffic shaping, an FTP proxy, an authenticating gateway, a complete logging facility, easy management with the administration tool set, IP address pooling (common address redundancy), and a state log daemon. smtp-vilter Added 2003-12-29 smtp-vilter is a high-performance content filter for sendmail-based email servers. It is mainly meant for detecting viruses. It uses the milter API to connect to sendmail, and it can scan email messages using various backends. Browse by category |
