MRTG generates HTML pages containing GIF/PNG images which provide a live visual representation of this traffic. Quick Spam Filter Added 2004-01-16 Quick Spam Filter is a small, fast spam filter that works by learning to recognise the words that are more likely to appear in spam than non-spam. It is intended to be used in a procmail recipe to mark email as being possible spam. GNU Simple Authentication and Security Layer (SASL) Added 2004-01-15 GNU SASL is a library that implements the IETF Simple Authentication and Security Layer (SASL) framework and some SASL mechanisms. SASL is used in servers (e.g. IMAP, SMTP, etc.) to request authentication from clients, and in clients to authenticate against servers. Local Area Security Knoppix Added 2004-01-14 Local Area Security Knoppix is a 'Live CD' distribution based on Knoppix but with a strong emphasis on security tools and small footprint. There are four different versions of L.A.S. Knoppix to fit three specific needs. These are a Firewall/IDS-centric version, a penetration testing/forensics version, a MiniCD-size version covering a full spectrum of tools, and a SECSERV secure mini-server that runs off CD. MyPasswordSafe Added 2004-01-14 MyPasswordSafe is a straightforward, easy-to-use password manager that uses the Blowfish algorithm to store encrypt passwords. It uses the same file format as Password Safe. PHP Screw Added 2004-01-14 PHP Screw is a PHP script encryption tool. When you are developing a commercial package using PHP, the script can be distributed as encrypted up until just before execution, preserving your intellectual property. Packit Added 2004-01-12 Packit is a network auditing tool that allows you to monitor, manipulate, and inject customized IPv4 traffic into your network. This can be extremely valuable for testing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, port scanning, and general TCP/IP auditing. It currently supports the ability to define nearly all TCP, UDP, ICMP, IP, and Ethernet header options. It requires libnet 1.1 or greater as well as libpcap, and has been tested to run on FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, and Linux. Linux Security Auditing Tool Added 2004-01-11 Linux Security Auditing Tool (LSAT) is a post install security auditing tool. It is modular in design, so new features can be added quickly. It checks inetd entries and scans for unneeded RPM packages. It is being expanded to work with Linux distributions other than Red Hat, and checks for kernel versions. bogofilter Added 2004-01-08 Bogofilter is a Bayesian spam filter. In its normal mode of operation, it takes an email message or other text on standard input, does a statistical check against lists of "good" and "bad" words, and returns a status code indicating whether or not the message is spam. Bogofilter is designed with fast algorithms (including Berkeley DB system), coded directly in C, and tuned for speed, so it can be used for production by sites that process a lot of mail.
