It is mainly meant for detecting viruses. It uses the milter API to connect to sendmail, and it can scan email messages using various backends. ipaudit-web Added 2003-12-16 Built upon ipaudit, ipaudit-web logs network activity, maintains traffic summaries, and presents Web-accessible graphs and reports. It is useful for identifying heavy bandwidth users, DoS attacks, and scans, etc. fwlogview Added 2003-12-15 fwlogview is a graphical, realtime, colorized logviewer for netfilter and other logs written in Java. It displays the logentries which are related to the firewall action. You can hide unimportant columns or change the order in which columns are shown. Hsftp Added 2003-12-09 hsftp is an ftp emulator that provides the look-and-feel of an ftp session, but uses ssh to transport commands and data. hsftp executes UNIX commands on the remote host, and thus will fail on non-Unix remote hosts. If hsftp is not set SUID root, and you have supplied a password/passphrase, it might get paged out to your swap partition during prolonged inactivity. For security, hsftp can be compiled to drop SUID root privileges irrevocably on startup, immediately after locking the memory for the password. For RSA authentication, you can avoid to have hsftp caching the passphrase if you use ssh-agent. In this case, you can use hsftp securely without setting it SUID root. hsftp has been developed on Linux. It is known to compile on a variety of other UNIX flavours (at least FreeBSD, Solaris, AIX, and HP-UX), but may not work on all. Fixes for portability are welcome for inclusion. Argus Monitoring System Added 2003-12-05 Argus is a system and network monitoring application. It will monitor nearly anything you ask it to monitor (TCP + UDP applications, IP connectivity, SNMP OIDS, etc). It presents a clean, easy-to-view Web interface. It can send alerts numerous ways (such as via pager) and can automatically escalate if someone falls asleep. OpenSSL Added 2003-12-02 The OpenSSL Project is a collaborative effort to develop a robust, commercial-grade, fully featured, and Open Source toolkit implementing the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL v2/v3) and Transport Layer Security (TLS v1) as well as a full-strength general-purpose cryptography library. SILC (Secure Internet Live Conferencing)(client) Added 2003-11-28 SILC Client package is intended for end users who are looking for a good and full featured SILC client. The SILC Client package currently includes Irssi-SILC client that supports all SILC features, themes and much more. It is curses based but has a possibility of adding various other frontends to it. The Irssi-SILC client's user interface is based on the Irssi client (see Irssi project). jmon Added 2003-11-26 Jmon is a system monitor with server and client programs to monitor ethernet interface statistics, memory and swap status, CPU load, and the status of TCP connections. At the moment, it works only on Linux systems. For writing the rrd database, it uses JRobin classes. Generic Security Service Added 2003-11-26 A bug that prevented 3DES gss_wrap from working in the Kerberos 5 mechanism was fixed. The library headers file now works even when the Kerberos 5 mechanism is disabled. The package has been tested on more platforms. CanIt Added 2003-11-25 CanIt is a server-based spam-control system built around SpamAssassin, MIMEDefang, Apache, and PostgreSQL. It features sophisticated spam-handling techniques which minimize the amount of spam you receive while guaranteeing that you'll never lose a valid email. CanIt achieves extraordinarily accurate discrimination through human intervention, and includes mechanisms to minimize the amount of human intervention required. Browse by category |
