Files written to the mount point will be stored encrypted (data and filename) in a directory on a normal filesystem. GNU Simple Authentication and Security Layer (SASL) Added 2004-01-15 GNU SASL is a library that implements the IETF Simple Authentication and Security Layer (SASL) framework and some SASL mechanisms. SASL is used in servers (e.g. IMAP, SMTP, etc.) to request authentication from clients, and in clients to authenticate against servers. MyPasswordSafe Added 2004-01-14 MyPasswordSafe is a straightforward, easy-to-use password manager that uses the Blowfish algorithm to store encrypt passwords. It uses the same file format as Password Safe. JavaCA Added 2004-01-12 JavaCA is a text interface tool to run a X.509 (aka SSL) Certificate Authority that aims to be more user-friendly than OpenSSL. It also should run on non-UNIX operating systems where OpenSSL may not be available. J2SSH Added 2004-01-11 J2SSH is an object-orientated Java implementation of the SSH version 2 protocol. It provides a rich, powerful, and extensible SSH API that enables developers to gain access to SSH servers and to develop entire SSH client/server frameworks. The API library provides a fully-featured SSH2 implementation specifically designed for cross-platform development. Higher level components, representing both the standard SSH client and SSH servers, are provided which implement the protocol specification for user sessions and port forwarding. The specification currently supports public key and password authentication and a full implementation of the SFTP protocol. J2SSH Maverick Added 2004-01-11 Maverick is a professional-level Java SSH API that is based upon the popular open source J2SSH library. It features support for both SSH1 and SSH2 protocols and compilation under JDK versions 1.1+, including the latest J2ME Java Mobile Platform. It also provides a range of performance enhancements with no dependencies, a single-threaded architecture, and improved file transfer rates. JCE taglib for JSP Added 2004-01-06 JCE taglib is a set of Open Source JSP tags, communicating with Sun's JCE (Java Cryptographic Extensions) library to bring strong encryption to your JSP applications. CalcChecksum Added 2004-01-06 CalcChecksum is a simple utility for calculating various checksums easily with a graphical user interface. Figaro's Password Manager Added 2003-12-29 Figaro's Password Manager (FPM) is a GNOME application that allows you to securely store your passwords, which are encrypted with the blowfish algorithm. It allows you to copy passwords or usernames to the clipboard or primary selection. If a password is for a Web site, FPM can keep track of the URLs of your login screens and can automatically launch your browser. You can also teach FPM to launch other applications. FPM can sort your passwords into categories. Finally, it has a password generator that can help you choose good passwords. Hsftp Added 2003-12-09 hsftp is an ftp emulator that provides the look-and-feel of an ftp session, but uses ssh to transport commands and data. hsftp executes UNIX commands on the remote host, and thus will fail on non-Unix remote hosts. If hsftp is not set SUID root, and you have supplied a password/passphrase, it might get paged out to your swap partition during prolonged inactivity. For security, hsftp can be compiled to drop SUID root privileges irrevocably on startup, immediately after locking the memory for the password. For RSA authentication, you can avoid to have hsftp caching the passphrase if you use ssh-agent. In this case, you can use hsftp securely without setting it SUID root. hsftp has been developed on Linux. It is known to compile on a variety of other UNIX flavours (at least FreeBSD, Solaris, AIX, and HP-UX), but may not work on all. Fixes for portability are welcome for inclusion. Browse by category |
