Greg - yes I am still with NSS, and that would have been quite easy to check directly rather than raising such "concerns" in a public forum.

A full methodology is available on the Web site, as it always has been. We are going to add the methodology to the sample report/table of contents document

I have seen the full report and it is fair to say that TP did very poor compared to the competition. This is really no surprise for those of us close to the industry who understand TP's heritage a

TippingPoint is whining about the results. I guess in the blogosphere,
everyone can hear you scream...

third-party test house that evaluated various intrusion prevention

I realize this thread is a little old, but I did want to make a comment in regards to this. As a QSA, *wired* side scanning alone would be insufficient to meet the intent of the PCI DSS 11.1 requirement. There is this quote from PCI Council:

"Relying on wired side scanning tools (e.g. tools tha

How to evaluate an IPS/IDS product 2009-09-11
Kai (phamtungduong gmail com) (1 replies)
Hi guys,

Our company has a plan to implement an IPS/IDS solution for entire
system. I 've got some solutions from different vendors. It's really
hard to decide which is the suitable solution. So, I want to ask a
question: what are the aspects which are considered when we evaluate a
IPS/IDS product.
