Hey Robert,

Depending on how your network is setup it is easy to find the IP address associated with a MAC. For example if you are using Cisco equipment you can find the information on the wireless controller. Querying your Cisco switches can get you down to the actual port that the device is on.

Hi

Anybody knows about hardware/software used for locating a wifi client?
Somebody is downloading torrents at full speed on our network and nobody
will admit it (or simply stop), and we really don't want to restrict
network usage since there are many legal stuff on torrent sites too so
is there a w

UDP question 2013-10-08

Hi All,

I have been reading http://nmap.org/bennieston-tutorial/. In the
section on UDP, he states:

UDP Scanning is not usually useful for most types of attack,
but it can reveal information about services or trojans which
rely on UDP, for example SNMP, NFS, the Back Orifice trojan

nmap root vs user question 2013-10-04
ToddAndMargo (ToddAndMargo zoho com) (3 replies)
Hi All,

"#" is my "root" prompt and "$" is my user prompt.

Question: why does namp sometimes work as root
and not as a user? Why no warning that a command
has to be run as root?

This works as root:
# nmap -p T:5020,5900 192.168.202.210
Starting Nmap 6.40 ( http://nmap.org ) at 2013-

Hi All,

I just read an article over at SANS,

https://isc.sans.edu/forums/diary/Do+you+have+your+network+perimeter+sec
ured+against+downloading+malicious+content+/16676

It uses the
nmap --script http-open-proxy.nse 192.168.0.0/24
script to check for free proxies.

Looking at the result of the scan,
