Long Running SSH Tunnel, Slowing Down 2010-03-22
Timothy O'Keefe (timothy okeefe gmail com)
Hi all,

First time poster, long time OpenSSH user :)

The Situation:

Users within our net require access to a website (http/80) that is
being hosted on another, trusted net. Admins on this other trusted net
are not necessarily as trusting as we are, though they do provide a
ssh gateway. So, one fa

Public key authentication works for one account, but NOT other account... 2010-03-20
Jon Price (jonelwoodprice gmail com) (3 replies)
Hi,

Public key authentication seems to work for one account but does NOT
work (prompts for password) for another account.
Why might this be?

I have a problem with public key authentication. This all happens on
the same server ("server1") which runs Solaris 10 and OpenSSH 5.3p1.
There are two scen

I'm trying to find an RFC or something else definitive that will

defining encryption schemes to full encryption.   I then want to

Greetings,

I am attempting to SSH a series of relatively small files (tens of
megabytes) over a VPN connection to a remote linux server. I am able to
SSH between the servers without a problem, but when I use SCP to copy
the files I start seeing the following message more and more until

Doru Georgescu (headset001 yahoo com)
I. most of ssh manual and all sshd manual present server and client as one machine, called host. All files mentioned are placed on one machine. This is incorrect, and makes the explanation unclear. For example, man sshd SSH_KNOWN_HOSTS FILE FORMAT suggests to copy keys from /etc/ssh/ssh_host_key.pub

sftp-server logging under chroot & privilege separation 2010-03-08

Hello:

We are using OpenSSH 5.3p1.

We are using this to host an SFTP drop-box. We have implemented chroot &
privilege separation.

For corporate security reasons, we are running sshd as an application ID
setuid root (long story - don't want to go into it here)

The issue we are noting is that w

Read the first part of my original email where swatch can launch script2
directly and it will work when I tee the output but fails without piping the
output to tee. This makes me think that it's something related to the
timing or relationship of the child process spawning by the sftp code.

Also, i
