Lycos antispam site taken offline
Jan Libbenga, The Register 2004-12-03

Lycos Europe appears to have taken down its controversial MakeLoveNotSpam site - temporarily, at least. The site now displays a graphic and the words "STAY TUNED." References to the site have also been removed from the Lycos Europe home page, where it was prominently featured, monitoring firm Netcraft reports.

It was only a matter of time before companies started going after the spammers as well. It is about time we start hitting them in their pockets after all they never respect the unsubscribe request. I had one JO that contacted me from a employment website sending me spam "We buy used SUN equipment". Had to threaten him with legal action to get him to cut it out. Now if we could find the person responsible for the coolwebsearch virus and lynch them maybe things will get better.
