It seems to me that Lycos must not have passed this one through their lawyers first. I'm all for doing all we can to fight spammers, but the potential for abuse of this system is great -- for example, what if it were possible to inject the IPs of sites you didn't like into the Lycos system? You've just created a huge DDoS system without having to crack anyone's computer.

We should focus on more responsible anti-spam activities, like breaking their fingers (kidding!) and throwing them in jail.

Or how about this -- We come up with something better than our current SMTP based email system? SMTP was created in a time where most everyon on the net was on speaking terms, these days its been kludged to death to try and fight spammers but none of the solutions have really helped, have they? I still have to filter out hundereds of spam mails from my box every day.
