Bush prepares for possible shutdown of GPS network in national crisis

President Bush has ordered plans for temporarily disabling the U.S. network of global positioning satellites during a national crisis to prevent terrorists from using the navigational technology, the White House said Wednesday.

Imagine nanoscale remotely piloted "kill" vehicles, or Nano-RPV's, released offshore, or near the borders, that could use the GPS system to guide them to an area or a specific target. Might this be a reason for shutting down the GPS network?
