Microsoft may charge extra for new security software

Microsoft Corp. disclosed plans Thursday to offer frustrated users of its Windows software new tools within 30 days to remove spyware programs secretly running on computers. But it might cost extra in coming months.

The best of both worlds, charge us for the OS and applications, tie in IE to the point it can't be removed, run IE with system level privileges, meaning it can install anything it wants, hold us hostage with poor coding, charge us to get rid of the malware their buggy application installed, create more malware to keep us hooked.

Seems like a sound business plan to me, guaranteed revenues with no worries of obsolescence.
