While EA is technically not responsible for content, as they act only as the middle man in end user file sharing, they will want to find a fix for this for a simple reason: if people are afraid of the shared files because of known vulnerabilites and a lack of accountibility, then sharing will decrease, the draw of the game will decrease and sales will decrease.
Good business sense and an ernest interest in the good gaming of their fans, more than any sense of guilt should be EA's motivation to fix this.
