I love how this article makes it seem like it's the fault of people who create and download hacks, and not the fault of Maxis. Creators of hacks and houses had no way of knowing that their hacks would be added to house packages. It's the Maxis packager that randomly grabs stuff from your downloads and adds it to a house package, even if was never used in the house! I created a house using only Maxis content, yet when I checked the package it was full of random content I've downloaded.

I can understand the packager including any objects, wallpaper, etc used in building a house, but there is no reason for it to grab hacks, or even objects not used in the house.

I personally only use hacks that make the game easier for me, not for my Sims - like an object that allows 'shop at home' for clothing, it takes sooo long to load a community lot just to fix someone's clothing - or to fix and prevent glitches that have occured.

Even knowing about this problem for so long, the Sims2Pack Installer (the official Maxis one, I mean) still doesn't let you install only the content you choose, or include only what's necessary when packaging a house. If it weren't for programs like the Clean Installer, there'd be no way to install only the content you'd like, or clean a house before uploading it.
