This is nuts. Since when do the manufacturers or vendors of ANY product get to exercise control over how their customers use it? Cars get modded. Houses get modded. Clothing gets modded. Food gets modded. Yards and gardens get modded. If I want to purchase a set of fine china and use it for skeet practice, that's my business. If I want to purchase movie or music disks and edit them in all sorts of goofy ways for my personal amusement, that's my business. I can rewrite books if I feel like it.

I really wonder what kind of numbskulls are running these businesses that sue their own customers, for lawfully doing what they want with their own property.

Oh right, we don't "own" software, we "license" it. Maybe so, but it sure feels like ownership to me; this "licensing" jive is a legal fiction, and one that needs have a stake driven through its heart.
