Hackers sued for tinkering with Xbox games

In the first case of its kind, a California video game maker is suing an entire community of software tinkerers for reverse engineering and modifying Xbox games that they legally purchased.

this is Stupid.. its like you go out and buy a car and is told that ure NOT ALLOWED TO PAINT OVER IT!! then those shops that paints or re-paint cars get suit cuz its GOING AGAINST COPYRIGHT LAWS!! car makers/bot makers/cpu makers/phone makers/etc SPEND MUCH MUCH MUCH more money in their R&D and they dont whine when their work get painted over/modified/made faster/different casing/etc.. TECMO's argument would be valid if those games were rented/borrowed/lent/loaned.. but NOT when it is BOUGHT!! if anything, its promoting ppl to buy the games more just for the sake of modifying it...
